S.O.A.P. – “Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer”

What are a few of the basic things you need every day to survive?
  • What line of the Lord’s Prayer is easiest for you pray? What part is the hardest for you?
  • Jeremy writes, “Nothing is too big for God, but nothing is too small for him, either.” What does he mean by this?
  • How can “Give us today our daily bread” become a prayer of solidarity (e.g., solidarity with people who are poor)?

Lord, we ask that You would give us this day our daily bread. We depend on You for everything good in our lives. And we are grateful to You for continuing to provide what we need each day. Teach us not to place our hope in our possessions, but in You. We want to keep coming back to you each day as our source of goodness and life. For those of us (in our church and community) who aren’t doing okay financially, we pray that You would give them their daily bread too.
